Achieving My Goals
I am a huge procrastinator which use to bother me. However, I’ve decided that instead of trying to change myself into a completely different person I’m going to work with what I’ve been given…work with who I truly am.
Knowing that I’m a procrastinator I set out on a journey to learn more about procrastination. I came across this video on the mind of a master procrastinator. Talk about mind being blown – I was like, “yep, umm hmm…that’s so me” throughout the entire video. I walked away with a lot of valuable lessons, the most important one being that I have to give myself deadlines with accountability. Otherwise, I will procrastinate on certain things for forever and never actually accomplish what I set out to do.
This led to me creating an entire system for my goals. It’s pretty much smart goals but with a twist and let me just tell you – I’ve gotten more done in the last year than I’ve gotten done in the last 6 years and it feels oh so good. I’ll give you an update on my entire process in a later post as I am still testing it.
What I want for October 2017 is to keep achieving my goals. To switch from 80/20 Learning-Doing to 80/20 Doing-Learning. Basically, I need to really ramp up the implementation of what I’ve been learning.
I use to be a people pleaser of sorts and I always care more about other people’s feelings more than my own. Which has led me down a path of being a less authentic version of myself.
This year I promised I would be a more authentic person. That I would worry about pleasing myself more than others. That I would still care about other’s feelings, just not at the expense of my own.
It has been hard sometimes but I am so grateful for the growth. I’m still figuring out who I am (partly why I started this blog).

Being a biochemist this was very interesting to me…okay, so I’m not really a biochemist but I studied it college and actually graduated with the degree. While I don’t work as a biochemist, I still love those two subjects (Biology and Chemistry). This young lady gives a beautifully detailed explanation behind the science of relaxers.
Talk About Girl Bosses// Jedidah Isler, PhD – ASTRO Physicis
When we talk about girl bosses, we should always include her name – Jedidah Isler. Fun Fact: I use to want to be an astrophysicist. Until, I actually took physics (cried the whole way through the class because it was just that hard) and said, no thanks. She excels in a male dominated industry and sets an example, especially for little girls, that you can do anything. Thank you Jedidah!
